Traditionally you would want to have the same number and have them paired up. But now a days….it really does not matter. I’ve been to several weddings where their are more Bridesmaids then groomsmen or the opposite. If you had 5 bridesmaid and 3 groomsmen just pair them up with 2 groomsmen having 2 bridesmaid and then maybe just the Maid of Honor and Best Man be paired.
I personally like to have them paired, but I have seen this happen before. If the groomsmen are walking down the aisle with bridemaids, just double them up (1 groomsman and 2 bridesmaids at a time). I think I am going to have 5 bridesmaids, my fiance 4 groomsmen…or 5 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen so we are 1 off just because its too hard to make it even. We both feel like if we have to add “just one more”, we have to ask 2 more. I was thinking since we both have a sister and they are both in the wedding, that to make it work I would have the best man walk both our sisters down at the same time. (Our younger 18 year old sisters are actually responsible for hooking us up in the first place!)
Nope. There is no rule to make them even, I think it is stupid to find people just to be a warm body in a dress/ suit just so things are “even”. You could do a bridesmaid on either arm for the guys or alternate down the aisle.
i’ve actually run into the same issue for my wedding. My guy has more girl friends then guy friends and i don’t have any guy friends at all. We’re goin to have a few groomsmaids and call it a day

Just planned a great wedding and we had uneven numbers so we had three walk down the aisle together – man in the middle…was great !

they would usually be paired up
but you can pair up the bridesmaids together too
if you know what i mean
I don’t see why not. Just have each groomsman walk down with two girls. They probably won’t complain about that!
Or they can walk themselves down.
Usually you’d want to have them paired up in the wedding party.
i don’t think that’s stupid. it’s your wedding! congrats!
